Key Note Speakers

Lee Martin – RN, JP, MACN, GAICD, LTCOL (retired)

Lee Martin has been involved in health and accommodation for many years. He’s had a long adventurous career as an Army Nursing Officer, reaching the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. Lee is now the Chief Executive Officer / Director of Care at Tanunda Lutheran Home Inc.  Lee began his career as a motor mechanic prior to completing his various nursing qualifications. Lee has a degree in Health Science, Graduate Certificate of Social Science, Diploma of Government Management and completed various management, health, accreditation, and governance courses.
Lee is a director of the newly formed ACCPA Board, chairperson of the South Australian Residential Care Advisory Committee and participates on the ACCPA Nation Member Advisory Committee. On a local level, is the chairperson of the Barossa & Districts Health Advisory Council.

Damith Herath – Associate Professor

Damith Herath is an Associate Professor in Robotics and Art at the University of Canberra. He is a multi-award-winning entrepreneur and roboticist with over 20 years of experience leading multidisciplinary teams on complex robotic integration, industrial and research projects. In 2011, he founded Australia’s first collaborative robotics startup, which was named one of Australia’s most innovative young tech companies in 2014. Teams he led consecutively became finalists in the Amazon Robotics Challenge in 2015 and 2016 and a top-ten category winner in 2016. He has also chaired several international workshops on Robots and Art. He is the lead editor of the book “Robots and Art: Exploring an Unlikely Symbiosis,” the first significant work to feature leading roboticists and artists together in the field of Robotic Art.
